Getting Pre-Qualified

Getting pre-qualified for a home loan

The first thing you need to do before starting your home search is to get pre-qualified with a good loan agent. This will take about 10 minutes over the phone. You will need to provide your social security number so he/she can run you credit report to check your credit score. You will then have a good idea of what the current loan rates are and how much of a loan you qualify for. Your loan agent will tell you what you will need to collect for her / him to fully pre-qualify you. This will include (but will not be limited to) tax returns, bank statements, existing debts. This should be done before an offer is accepted.
